-17-
Invite to the path of your Lord with wisdom and advice,
and debate with them in the best possible manner.
16:125
Throughout the Quran there is a strong call for employing reason and sound advice when calling on others to follow the law of God. Never is there the slightest notion of enforcing the faith on others. The above Quranic verse is one of many verses that confirm this truth. To follow are some others:
1- Those are the ones whom God knows what is in their hearts, so keep away from them. Just advise them and say to them convincing words about themselves. 4:63
2- The servants of the Almighty are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the ignorant speak to them, they say, "Peace." 25:63
3- I have been commanded but to worship the Lord of this town that He has made Haram, and to whom belongs all things. And I have been commanded to be one of the Submitters, and to recite the Quran. Whoever is guided is guided for his own good, and to the one who goes astray, say, "I am only one of the warners." 27:91-92
4- A good deed and a bad deed are not the same. Repel with the good deed, and as a result, the one with whom you had animosity would become as though he was an intimate friend. 41:34
