Sadly, the command in these verses has been badly corrupted whereby a new un-Quranic innovation is practiced called 'halal meat'. The only condition placed by God on the lawful food we eat is that we pronounce His name on it before eating it. God never commanded the believers to use slaughter as the ONLY method of killing the animal.
