Messengers of God
.
The title of messenger has been used in the Quran for human messengers,
also angel messengers (e.g. 19:19) and also for the Quran as being a
messenger of God (11:2). This section is a study of the role of human
messengers as portrayed in the Quran.
Messengers of God receive great respect in the Quran. They are chosen men
who have been selected by God to execute a number of duties. They are
praised and described as righteous, honorable and God fearing men.
However, the Quran also stresses the point that all God's messengers are
ordinary human beings who do not have any claim to divine attributes.
The subject of messengers is widely covered in the Quran. The following are
the major points of study:
.
1- Why Messengers?
2- Criteria for genuine Messengers
